Artist Takes Viewers on an 'Odyssey' Housatonic Times The exhibition that so fascinated the artist was of Faiyum portraits, also known as mummy portraits, which were common of Roman Egypt's very multicultural, multi-ethnic society. They were not painted in oils, however, nor with rudimentary pigments. |
